Good Night, Wendy by Gabrielle Argonza
I’ve always wanted to show my process when it came to digitally coloring my pieces. I’m still a novice when it comes to this method, but I’m learning to learn as I go. Though this is yet to be finished (a good hour is still needed to put in details), I’m quite satisfied with how it’s coming out! Plus it looks a bit cool as a gif :D

Good Night, Wendy by Gabrielle Argonza
I wasn’t able to sleep last night and I refused to study or do any homework. As a result I finally watched Warner Brother’s Peter Pan, a 2003 remake of the Disney classic. From that movie spurred this drawing.
I simply adore Peter Pan, but there was never an official kiss in the Disney movie just like the one in the Warner Bro’s take, and I found myself wanting to fill that void by drawing this. With the mediocre preliminary sketches done at 5am last morning, I began reconstructing the scene where Peter bids Wendy farewell at the last few minutes of the film. I want to believe that Peter cares for Wendy more than he had ever expected (just as proposed in the 2003 remake), but because he wishes to remain a child, he has no way of really displaying his feelings, or controlling them for that matter.
Though not as direct as the 2003 film, drawing him plant a kiss on Wendy’s forehead is a way of having Peter accept that he did in fact feel something with Wendy, and in those feelings he matured a bit. Perhaps I even had intentions of the kiss symbolizing a bid “good night” to the future they could never have simply because they lived completely different lives. Wendy wanted to return back home from Neverland, to grow up, and to mature while Peter wished to remain a child.
Nevertheless, Peter Pan will remain a favorite Disney classic of mine, regardless of a kiss or not. I just had to fulfill that void that common Disney movies achieve with that climatic kissing moment. Hope you enjoy this! I hope I’ll have time to add a splash of color to this.

Jessie James by Gabrielle A.
As a warm up, we decided to draw each other to get this blog started. But because Jess has an 8am class tomorrow and I don’t, I thought I’d show off a bit and do a little doodle first. Hah!
Jessie’s doodle of me shall be coming up fairly soon.

Doodledudes is a partnered art blog shared by Gabrielle Argonza and Jessie Samson. We will be updating this blog with a bunch of our doodles as well as our personal art pieces and projects. As college students, we feel that by expressing ourselves through our artwork as a team, it may someday help propel us towards rewarding careers as Animators and Illustrators. Stay tuned until then because you know how college kids are with procrastination!
